I Have A Little Pink One.

We are proud to announce the birth of our daughter Bonnie Louise.I did not feel any pain during the birth but the missus reckons it stung a bit.I will be updating the blog soon but for now I will take a short break and enjoy time with the newest addition to the family.

Tonka Toy Time.

Today was time to remove the wetlands next to the house and have a good tidy up while there was a break in the weather.Looking much better and a lot safer than having yellow clay everywhere.

Front Entry.Say WHAT???

These pics show the front door of the house and the tiling that Max has done in the entry.Over sixty mtrs of tiles were laid yesterday. All the cuts and border effects were completed today with the grouting to be done on Monday. The tiles we bought for $17 mtr at CTM in Sydney and they do look pretty good. The grout will be grey which will hide most problems and require less cleaning. After the tiling is completed we get to put the skirting boards back on and do the paint touch ups.

THE KEY TO BEING HAPPY.

Right on schedule we had the final inspection and handover yesterday.Chris the site supervisor has been on the ball all the way through the building process and has never had a problem with addressing any concerns we may have. This is why the handover was a matter of learning about the characteristics of the house and fittings rather than looking for faults.
We now have a lot of keys plus a few remotes for the garage door and alarm system as well as a healthy pile of service manuals.Chris will be back in three months to check out any problems that may have arisen. The floor tiler will begin tiling from the front door to the rumpus today and the carpet layer will be on the job in about four days.If it stops raining long enough I can start landscaping the front yard.

BOGGY MAN.

The rain has been constant over the last week but lucky for us most of the remaining work is to be done inside the house. The home theater and snooker room have been painted and look good to me.The ute was loaded with 600 kgs of tiles with another 500 kgs still to bring down from Sydney.Wardrobe doors have been painted and power points, lights and alarm are working now.Allworth are going flat stick to make sure we have the house by the 23rd of April.

Now Screening.

These pics show the bathrooms as of last week. The mirrors have been fitted as well as the vanity and shower screens. The handover date will be 23rd April at this stage.

Entering The Home Stretch.

The bathrooms are almost finished now.We are so impressed with the tiling job we are paying the Allworth tiler to tile the hallway, dining and rumpus areas. The painters have also been hard at work inside and also some external painting of the gables. We have chosen carpet and blinds that are to be fitted about one week after the handover.Looks like we may be moving in around the last couple days of April - fingers crossed now.

AMAZING.

Shocking revelation - someone employed by Allworth had the gumption to work on a weekend. What an amazing concept,I hope it doesn't cause the solar system to implode.
So as the pics show we now have downpipes and the water tank has been hooked up ready to give us FREE water.

Getting Laid.

The pics show the tiling that has been started over the last week.We are very happy with the tiles that we chose and the work done by the quality tradesmen employed by Allworth Homes. We have been out searching for carpets and window coverings - an experience as invigorating as a frontal lobotomy.Sounds like a reason to go fishing eh?

Is The Bun Cooked Yet?

The pictures show the newly fitted kitchen, vanities and bath tub - a very active day for Allworth.Electricity has been hooked up to the power pole so no more generator needed. The tilers will be arriving on Tuesday to jazz things up with a bit of colour.

BATH TIME.

The corner bath and vanities have been delivered and will be installed quicksmart. The internal and external doors are being fitted but we are still waiting on the garage doors.

Tanks Very Much.

As you can see in the pics we have had the 4,500 ltr plastic water tank delivered and placed on the slab.We chose a colour that in theory will blend in with the house.Judging by the amount of rain that falls in this area the tank should always be full. The kitchen cabinets, benchtop and sink have also been delivered and will most likely be installed tomorrow.

Power Arrangers.

We now have a power pole and a meter box installed. The third pic shows the solar collector looking inconspicuous on the roof,in fact I didn't know it was there until I tripped over the installation manual. We have been told we might be able to move in around the 22/4/08 if there are no problems.Fingers crossed.

Turbo Gyprock

Four Asian guys turned up and in no time at all had all the walls and ceiling sheets installed.I don't think they know what a lunch break is.Very impressed with the progress we are witnessing at the moment.

KILLER BATS.

A couple of guys turned up with some Bradford Batts for the external walls and ceiling today. They installed R 3.5 batts in the ceiling and R 1.5 batts in the walls, that should kill the temperature extremes nicely.
